    SALMON RUN | RUCH, OREGON

The Britt Festival funded a mural with the kids at the Ruch Outdoor School that featured local Salmon and oak trees, a part of the curriculum, learning about the local wildlife and fauna, and how important they are to the local Takelma Tribe. KINGDOM | KALIHI, HAWAII

I had the honor of working with KVIBE, a nonprofit in Oahu, Hawaii that teaches the children of Kalihi Valley how to fix and build bikes in order to empower and build community through bikes and cultural empowerment. I worked with almost 80 kids to do a balloon throw for their annual fundraising event using blue and yellow to create the green of their logo color. At the event, 8 kids told their stories about what KVIBE means to them, and I used their stories to inspire the design of the mural that decorates the front of their bike shop.

CENTRAL CITY CONCERN | PORTLAND, OR

Funded by Central City Concern, I worked with the tenants and staff of the Henry Building, an affordable housing facility that is focussed on providing employment and addiction assistance in downtown Portland. Because many of the tenants had previously experienced housing insecurity, I wanted to design a mural that made the nature of the city feel safe, vibrant, and beautiful.

Funded by the Britt Festival, I collaborated with 50 kids from Crater High School. They threw over 300 paint filled water balloons in the primary colors, and I then lead the students in 4 days of painting the mural together.
